How to build a robot that paints colourful pictures?
What will archaeologists think about us in 500 years’ time when they dig up our techno junk?
What films do cyborgs produce, and what does weaving actually have to do with computers?
Inspired by the themes of the exhibition Radical Software: Women, Art & Computing 1960–1991 (27.2.–25.5.2025 Kunsthalle Wien), students from the Institute for Art Education at the Academy of Fine Arts Vienna developed teaching units that they tested with pupils from the Aspern Modular Middle School as part of a practical project lasting several weeks in the context of the course “An exhibition as a space for learning”. As a result of this collaboration, the pupils’ work is presented in an exhibition at the Kunsthalle Wien Atelier from 16 June. The exhibition will be open throughout the summer holidays and can be visited free of charge. In addition, all projects will be published in a booklet with material descriptions and step-by-step instructions. The booklet will be available free of charge at the Kunsthalle Wien Atelier at the start of the new school year.
